Printing out 3D artwork.

I just wrote an artist asking them to do a commission. If they accept, I would love to print them out and put them up on my wall.

Having Wal-Mart print them out is out of the question.

I have given up on inkjet printers since my $$$  Cannon i9900 large format printer decided that it needed the diaper changed after so many prints.

I would like to consider a color Laser/Toner type printer as these are reliable and inexpensive to operate after the initial purchase. Could someone recommend one?

On the subject of printers, I have several 3D Printers. Are any of the 3D figures the artists create transferable to 3D printed objects? I think if they can be imported into blender, they can be exported in STL format and then turned into G-cade for the 3D printer. I do know the mesh has to be completely closed and there are some tricks to do this.

I personally have used a ricoh printer with high quality paper for printing

as for the 3D printing, in theory it's sound. But I have no experience with 3d printing myself.

Try our discord channel, either of the general channels will do as long as it's kept SFW in the SFW channel

I'm not sure if this will help, but I've used this company for posters, flyers, business cards etc. and all of their prints have came out great.

I believe so, I read their TOS and it doesn't say anything about not allowing nudity.

I know the local UPS store with their wonderful Canon Poster printer will not print anything unless the ownership or copyright can be confirmed. I have been told the same thing about Wal-Mart.

I could lie but then it is easy to do an image search on line.

I cannot imagine sending some of the NSFW images from Slushe to an online poster printer. Who knows what the reaction of the company would be. I could be fully within my legal rights but any kind of complaint could make my life hell until it is resolved.

So now it is back to printing it myself.

Maybe there is an opportunity here at Slushe to work with a printer that is OK with uncensored porn and will share the profit with the artist.

That would be a good idea, kinda like DA sells prints.
I have another project I need a color printer for so I will eventually buy either a Canon or Ricoh toner printer but only letter size. Who do I talk to here about offering a printing service to include all the financial and contractual stuff. I guess another starting place would be to look at DA print services.

You would need to speak with Miro or perhaps Alice.

Regarding 3D-Printers:

As you pointed out you need a printable 3D-model. You definitely won't get this straight out of DAZ. If your model has complex outfits and expecially hair you would need serious 3D modeling skills to get something printable.

Next thing is the printers themselves. We mostly know FDM/FFF or resin printers. With the latter you might get good enough detail and surface quality, but then you would have to do post work and also hand painting.

There are some full color 3D printers out there, the most familiar ones (HP, stratasys, 3Dsystems) have prices up to a mill, I think. With these you would be able to get amazing results right out of the printer (provided you could handle the bridge between DAZ and the printer, eg. software, models, textures ...).

But it seems more affordable full color 3D printers are appearing gradually: for example https://www.3dnatives.com/en/top-14-color-3d-printers-191120194/

DAZ3D is officially partnered with GamePrint. Theres a free DAZ-plugin that lets you export your model. You have the option to get a printable .stl file or order an actual figure that they print (with the option to have it handpainted).

You can't get a .stl directly. But for 2$ you get an automatic repair/fix of your model, for 50$ you get a custom repair/fix by their 3D artists. I wanted to try the 2$ fix but it wouldn't accept paypal (did someone try this once?).

I tried uploading a normal figure with an outfit, hair and some accessoires. For a 9 inch model I came out at 220$ (full color 3D print, don't know the type of printer and quality, but the stuff on their website looks great)

In their ToS they don't allow, among other stuff, depiction of sexual acts or "Designs that focus on genitalia without a larger context or commentary"

Imagine working there and suddenly having to handpaint a super lewd futa babe xD

Hi Blauram

You have done your homework on 3D printing. Contact me through messaging and I think I can get you a 3D print. My large printers are down but I have one with 150mm build area. The problem is converting 3D art to .STL format. A $2 online conversion seems like a bargain. If DAZ and the conversion plug in are affordable, I would purchase that, even if to convert a file purchased from someone else.

I live in a super rural area where everyone knows everyone else. Using the local Wal-Mart, UPS store or drugstore to print out anything is out of the question.

I am doing technical photography right now for an original research project and because of intellectual property management, using a print service is not an option. So right now a Laser/toner printer is on the budget.

i found this on the internet i dont know if it helps for people who love 3d prints and i have spotted how thay moneytize in the video but still maybe a option

Some printers will do posters on photo paper. It's around 20$ for a 16''x24''. I have high quality adult stuff printed sometimes… You have to know the right people. Maybe I could help.

I finally purchased an Epson ET-7750. It has huge tanks, cyan, yellow , magenta, black and photo black. I highly recommend it. It will also do tabloid size, 11" X 17". It is slow but the reviews state that is is very low cost to print since the print head never clogs and Epson sells the ink in bulk.

If anyone Slushe artist needs large batch printing I will consider working a project with you.

The following site apparently does produce prints of erotic subject matter.  There are quite a few examples posted on their site.  It does not specifically mention whether they will print hardcore images, so I have sent a query to them, and will update this thread when they've answered.

Okay, here is my query to www.icanvas.com:

Do you print images that would be considered "hardcore porn"? These would include images that feature explicit genitalia, bodily fluids, penetration, etc.? These would be images that I have created using a 3D image creation program lled Daz Studio, but there are certainly many others like Blender, Maya, etc. I know that there are other digital artists who are using these products and are very interested in finding a vendor willing to produce prints in this genre.

And here is the answer that I received from them today:

When you make a custom image with iCanvas, as long as you own the rights to the images and there is nothing that is illegal on the image, we should be able to print your items.  You can start your custom order here https://www.icanvas.com/custom

If anyone decides to give them a try, be sure to report back how the experience goes.

You could just ask the artist to sell prints on deviantart and just buy one there.
If you want to go the 3d printing route (I've done it a few times), one of the major things you're gonna run into are eyelashes, eye parts, and hair. ALL things using transparencies/alpha. The method I'm gone is just remove the lashes and cornea models with a program called meshmixer. When working with hair, mind you it won't look super good when printed and will most likely need a LOT of supports and those can be a colossal pain in the butt to remove in post-work. It's entirely possible and there's a market for models, believe it or not. This site has all kinds of nifty usable things to print, as well as "naughties" which is mostly stuff I assume is exported from D|S. I have a few models on there, just look for this same name.

tell me why is this so cool? http://clickfrm.com/APYB
