3DX Ideas and Concepts

I really love busty women so is not a surprise most of my characters are like that and my art has that theme.

Also love sexploitation and dark themes so again, is not a surprise I use that a lot. But mostly in the texts. 

For me my art is an accessory. I value the text, the narrative, the story. So the art simply fill that gap and shows part of that narration. I know most watchers only see the art and don't read the stories but as I don't have my art as source of income (sadly, because I really would like to live only with my art as a primary job) I try to do what I like.

Regarding what some people said before I really would like to know how to narrate emotions in a visual way. I also love to place my characters in casual situations, with no make up, casual pose, casual clothes, ... But let's be honest here, metrics tell me most watchers prefer the images with nude characters in sex situations so at the end I do a lot of that kind.

Is difficult some times to be an erotic artist. XD

I've taken a somewhat different approach with some of my work, which focuses on a 'magic fetish' theme (as in stage magic/illusions, not fantasy magic like wizards and such).  I've created some odd fantasy illusions (as can be seen in my port).  I still have plenty of ideas left to flesh out though.  I guess a lot of it revolves around a stylized version of BDSM art, really - with a magic/illusion theme.  It's actually fairly challenging to build the props, though.  There is also a following for this kind of artwork (overtly erotic or not), especially over on DeviantArt.  It's a small but dedicated community.   Unfortunately I've not had a lot of time in the last year or so to work on these ideas I have.


I also want to do more facial images, as I've learned more about modeling 'fluids'.  It's not so easy, but the shader is really what matters.  Since I render in Blender, though, it does give me more flexibility.

I'd like to see a lot more of visual experimentation and different styles. In composition, color and lighting.

Right now, save for a few artists, I can't tell who created what picture, and that makes 3d art too much the same all across the site.  Perfect uniform stable lighting with almost no shadows or dark spaces, same color grading, and a certain synthetic clean 'default' look to most of the scenes. 


3d is harder to manipulate than 2d art, of course, but it's a pity that the softwares or models purchased seem to be the major difference between galleries.


I'm far from a good artist, but for me it's a lot more fun and interesting if things look like it's my style. Even if my style is bad. ¡Come un, people! ¡Have fun and stop worrying about denoise settings or whatev!

I've personally had the luxture of being on both sides of the spectrum since the time as a little brat drawing on school books to notebooks from 12x20 inch drawing pads so I cannot properly give a real answer on which is harder because both require complex thinking and practice. Both are pretty difficult to understand on a technical level and a personal level, hobby v non-hobby. You still have to do some research in some kind of degree, it cannot be speed ran and on top of this, lighting for both 2d/3d is important but so is position of characters and evaluation of your own time and worth for posting. Also as you just said, important figures on expensive (debatable bias ofc) is also in this equation too.


An annoying expeedianture that I disdan but 3DX has taught me to see more depth of what else can be done v what I have done. That's a good thing!

I think there's a couple reasons why so much of the 3DX looks the same. One reason is because there's so many pre-made assets out there that a lot of 3DX artists don't know anything about how to model, texture, or even kitbash morphs for semi-original characters. They just load in a bunch of ready made stuff and hit render. They don't really have any need to get good at lighting or creating characters when there's so many people doing that stuff for us. And then, I'd wager most everyone's getting the bulk of their assets from the same three sources which doesn't help.

The other reason, probly the bigger reason, is that so many people seem to be striving for "photoreal" renders these days. When just perusing thumbnails it's hard for any one artist to really stand out from the pack when the vast majority of artists are all working in the same style.

Yeah, I've got a decent comic archive and the most 'realistic' artists are often the most boring. Erotic or otherwise.

Style, color and composition beat any other aspect, specially 'realism'
