Help with tattoo using L.I.E

Hi all,

I have made my own tattoo design to be placed on the middle of the back of the model i am using. I can never get the alignment right, and it would end up having the middle of the tattoo overlap or ending up with a gap. Is there a template I could use to correct the alignment or is there a method I should know about?

The only thing I can suggest is to pop onto the forums in Daz and see if anyone else is having this issue, and see how they got around it

Two options spring to mind:

1) There should be a Template for the body type you're using (I'mma go ahead and assume some variety of Genesis).  Unsure if you know or not (I didn't until a while back), but the Template folder for DAZ content are basically the UVs for making your own textures.  Using that as a guide would help quite a bit I think.

2) Failing that, track down the torso texture you're using (You can find the location via the LIE window with the main texture) and use that as a template in like Photoshop or GIMP or what have you.

I think you are spot on with the Uv's.  Good finding

I realize this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say I'm glad it was posted. I was having an issue with tattoos as well and ended up going with option 2. making copies of the torso, arms and legs texture MAT.  I working on them in photoshop to get what I wanted then loading them back into the shader.

I was recently working on a tattoo for the center back for G8F and was running into the same problems.  What helped me out was using the following templates for G3F and Victoria 7 from Skiriki @ ShareCG.

Both sets have multiple resolution templates as well as seam guide which was key in getting the two halves of the back tattoo to line up.

There is still a lot of trial and error but if you match the color patterns on the seam guide it will quickly get you in the ballpark.
