“Is she going to be, like okay?” Stephanie says. “Oh my God I hope she is not hurt!”

“She will be fine,” Lexi says. “We need to get her to the caves where it is cooler, get her some water, and get these hot clothes off her. She is overheated and tired.”

“Thanks for saving us!” Stephanie says. “Sorry about the whole coming out here to hunt you down thing, I hope you can forgive us.”

Lexi smiles. “Don’t worry about it; if anyone it is Sarah who needs to answer for this mess. It is too dangerous for you two out here, because the mercs that do not surrender will be hunted down and killed. We are folding this BS like a house of cards, and when it comes down, it will come down quick.”

“You gonna, like, hurt my stepmom?” Stephanie says.

Lexi sighs. “Up to Laura, really. If she doesn’t do anything really stupid before that. She is piling up the stupid debt at a pretty rapid rate.”

“Someone like said something to her,” Stephanie says, “so she is like this. She thinks she needs to do all this stuff people online tell her to do, you know, to be accepted by them.”

Lexi shakes her head. “Ever think that people online tell you to do stupid things because they secretly want to laugh at you? Or they hate you and want to ruin your life? Or maybe their life sucks so much they just want to spread misery around?”

“Really?” Stephanie says. “Oh my God I didn’t know that.”

“Look up the stages of death,” Lexi says. “One of them is lashing out and trying to hurt other people. And someone should have taught you that always looking for someone else’s approval is going to lead you down a life of hurt and pain, not just for yourself but others.”

Stephanie sighs. “But I was taught in school to always give approval to others, even if I knew what they were doing was wrong I should support them. Except for maybe political and ideological enemies, then we should like hunt them down in real life and hurt them. I was told not to judge that behavior, and that I should approve of it.”

“What is wrong with you people?” Lexi sighs. “Hurting anyone is bad, I don’t feel great about what I just did, but it was him or us. I chose us. But it doesn’t make me happy, not in the least.”

“Oh,” Stephanie says, “we were kinda taught that hurting others makes us happy. You know, we win they lose. Go team?”

“Major deprogramming coming, Stephie. I am asking my stepmom if she can take you under her wing,” Lexi sighs. “And I swear to God I hate Twitter.”
