According to ST:First Contact, April 5 is the official day that Zefram Cochrane makes first contact with the Vulcans. A pleasant coincidence if ever there was one. The way this scene was chugging in my viewport, I expected the render to take hours. Turns out it only took 15 minutes. HDRIs are a wonder.
