Love The Ghosts

Oct 07, 2021

“One thing is said to those who dare to enter the Cameron House: those who return are forever changed.”

After an erotic encounter with a ghost on the second floor of the infamous Cameron Estate, private investigator Rick

Sommers goes in search of the mansion's supernatural origins.

Rumors tell that many of Professor Cameron's most coveted items from his expeditions were stored in a secret room known as The Gallery. But in all the years since his passing no one has been able to find it. Not even those who have owned the property.

Cameron's study, more than any other room in the decaying Colonial mansion, housed his most prized possessions. Books from a wide variety of subjects, sculptures and trinkets acquired from cultures stemming from the four corners of the Earth, old paintings given to him from his peers in the world of academia.

Over the course of an hour, Rick scours every visible crevice of the study. Moving furniture, lifting up sculptures, going through the contents of the desk, examining the book titles along the wall, then removing and stacking the books elsewhere until the shelves are made bare and settled dust is kicked up by his moving about.

He proceeded to tap the walls, trying to hear any hollow spots.

Starting on the wall behind the desk, only four columns down, he finds a spot that provides a deeper thud. Upon a pause he taps the remaining two along that wall, with the one next to it providing a similar thud.

He then taps the harder spots found and compares them to the shelves near by without.

He then takes a step back to see if there are any visible gaps along floor, which there are none.

He proceed to thoroughly examine the shelves visually and starts messing with the shelves themselves to remove them or possibly knock them loose.

On the bottom shelf of one of section a piece of the English oak that supported the books came loose, and revealed a 4-digit combination lock and a handle beneath it.

Consulting one of Cameron's journals found in one of the stacks, he attempted several different possible combinations based on dates, times, astrological numbers, and mathematical formations found within them. Nearly uncertain he might be able to unlock it, he does. The handle reveals a split door within the bookcase, and behind it a small freight elevator and stairwell.

Despite the house supposedly having no electricity he hears the gentle hum of the elevator's motor, indicating that there is still some power. Still, he takes the cobblestone stairs that wrap around the elevator shaft down.

Upon exiting a tunnel at the base of the steps, he enters a dimly little room silhouetted by dust, condensation, and the light of the full moon. He pulls up on a large switch and turning on overhead lights to reveal The Gallery. What was assumed by many to be a museum-like collection of ancient treasures in reality was a laboratory that uses sacred objects constructed inside the remnants of the old fort the coastal mansion was built on. And the ancient treasures were in fact sacred objects obtained by Cameron. None of which appeared in any inventory record or known document about the building.

In the middle of the room lay a circular sigil of stone and metal surrounded by four pylons wired to two large domes, connected to a network of machines and other equipment that could not have been installed when Professor Cameron was alive. Behind the sigil suspended between the two domes hangs a large round circular stone with two snakes and a large gemstone in the center, placed in alignment with the sigil.

Rick searches the lab to find out the meaning of all this. On a table in front of a console to the right of the sigil is an assortment of tech, tools, and one thing that grabs his attention more than anything else - a spell book. Using one of Cameron's notebooks found in the lab he is able to decipher the spell book, as well as how to use the the equipment.

Field compressors active, coils powering up, coolant flowing, and the full moon in alignment with the crystal, Rick disrobes and stands in front of the sigil. He flips a switch to bring the system to full power and stands in the center of the device, grabbing hold of the handles fixed to the wooden posts. As the machine humming grows in intensity the hairs on his body begin to stand up. A few minutes later, the hum goes quiet and is replaced by the sounds of his breath and the wind.

Not long after, the spirit he encountered earlier appears before him as she materializes from the moonlit dust particles. And like before immediately began to linger her presence around his body before gracing it with a lasting touch that resonates throughout his entire nervous system. This sensation is only amplified as her light-based form passes between his flesh and bones, carrying with a wave of ecstasy not ever experienced through any sexual encounter with a mortal.

Fingers that grip without weight, that touch without force; orifices that lubricate with ectoplasm that moistens longer than saliva, and brings with it an indescribable sensation of pleasure that permeates every cell in his body. And the orgasm to follow all this, beyond anything conceivable, beyond any individual or assembly of words in any language, beyond the very nature of time itself.

Only a few minutes into this encounter, the machines spark and begin to produce an idling hum. With the machine becoming more stable, more ghosts arrive and the sensations become more heightened. And maintained this state for quite sometime until Rick had physically exhausted himself. After a brief moment of recovery, he went for another round.

Then for his health and sanity walked away from the sigil and deactivated the machine. One by one the ghosts dematerialized. He bathed in his endorphins and sweat while sitting in a chair catching his breath.

Threw in the story for extra credit and provide a back story for doing the sequel to last year's Halloween contest piece in a vastly different set.

I'll probably share other angles since the rest of the set I made is pretty neat and some things I originally envisioned for the piece would probably work better from different perspectives.
