“Oh my God that is such a cool story!” Lori says.

Lian blinks. “How did they manage to fight a technologically superior evil space empire and win?”

Lori laughs. “You saw the movie, Aztec teddy bears helped them out!”

“Close,” Ixchel smiles. “We had races of intelligent human-like animal-kind help us.”

“I knew it was furries,” Lori giggles. “What happened to them?”

Ixchel nods. “They took the evil empire’s ships and settled planets of their own.”

“The ancient world was so much cooler than the one we ended up with,” Lain sighs. “We just got gangs of criminals that move in and out of government and give money to each other’s friends.”

Ixchel sighs. “Any nation built upon hands driven by greed is one that shall never have a hand free to lend one in need. I am afraid the house shall not stand much longer. Prepare yourselves for dark days, ones new to the world.”

“We are like totally off grid survivalists,” Lori says. “What we were hoping for is a home down here where we could live in peace and have a place of our own. I mean, if it pleases the Goddess.”

She smiles. “It pleases the Goddess to have you two close…closer to me.”
