Being both a female police inspector and host to her medieval male ancestor has certain given Dennis some complicated feelings about gender and sexuality. Her body, though tomboyish, was definitely female. The knight himself was straight, and before being joined with him, she had thought herself to be straight too.
Rhys was gay. So this was a bit of experimentation for him as well.
