Across America, the new season begins.

The little ones are sent off to school.

And homes are suddenly filled with emptiness.

There are mothers out there who feel abandoned

like old forgotten toys.

They seek to fill in

the vacuum left behind

not only in their houses made of flesh.

but in their hearts.

They hunger.

are given a new perspective.

like abandoned cars in the backstreets.

In the seedy back rooms

... of gyms

... of bars on the other side of town

... of intimate prayer meetings in their pastor's bed.

All rooms are same room.

A human kennel that looks like reality.

And like all social animals

they have a common instinctive goal,

a shared irrational destiny.

To commit a sin is like having a prayer answered.

The unexpected joy in the betrayal of her duties as mother and spouse

comes with the addiction.

They never expected to find such pleasure.
