Forbidden

Princesses from separate kingdoms, Fae and Human, each yearned to escape the prison that is court life. Politics and alliance forging have forced them both to be betrothed to men they do not love. They live a life of duty and obligation, with no sanctuary for their own desires.

Their only reprieve was to slip away in the middle of the night while everyone sleeps to enjoy the one thing they cannot have: freedom. The rush of wind as they ride through the forest. The sights, sounds, and smell of the forest. The solitude. It was exhilarating, enhanced by the danger of being caught. They rode alone but each night they drew closer. Then a glimpse through the trees. Until, at last, they came upon one another. 

 They both felt it. A vibration in the air. A connection drawing their worlds together. A hesitant smile led to quiet laughter then the words as they learned of each other. Such ease. Such comfort. They were kindred spirits in the night. In the forest away from the demands of their station. They shared laughs and talked of dreams. Over time, their bond grew from friendship to something more. A light touch. A kiss. Love. 

On one night, with the only witnesses being the full moon and their equine companions, they made their way to a secluded pool. It was mid-summer and the air was warm. A perfect night for a dip in the water. They removed their riding clothes and waded into the shallow pool. Exposed to each other for the first time, neither could take their eyes off of one another. A gentle touch here, a light caress there. The forest echoed with a new song. A love song. 

 As an act of approval for this moment, the forest reacted with a shower of light. Startled at first, both princesses quickly realized this was indeed a special night. The energy of the light shower filled their hearts and bodies. This night was nothing short of magical as they made love for the first time.
