"So, these are the two girls you told me about?"

"Yes, your majesty. They were camping for the night in our newly created "Royal national park" and of course it's forbidden. So, police officers came by, they brought them to the police station, and you know...they weren't much educated, didn't understand that you don't deal with western tourists like with local girls, and well...they roughed them up quite a bit."

"They raped them?"

"No, fortunately, a captain stopped them in time. The worst was avoided. But still, it sounds bad, especially after your majesty's speech at the United Nations last week about the rights of women. It got a lot of coverage."

"I see. First have all the records of their arrest deleted. And have the officers responsible reassigned to the worst job in the most forsaken by God place you can think of."

"What about the girls, your majesty? Should we make them, you know...vanish?"

The Sultan turned towards the two knelt prisoners and examined them intently. "No," he finally said, "I'll deal with this issue. Forget about all this." And, pointing at the soldier standing behind the girls, he added : "give this man a promotion, and make sure that he forgets everything as well. And on your way out, tell Ibrahim, the warden of my seraglio, to come see me. He'll have some arrangements to make."
