Shining Light: The Origin of the Gilded Zephyr

Shining Light: The Origin of the Gilded Zephyr

Shining Light is a superhero origin story. The subtitle is “The Origin of The Gilded Zephyr,” after all. The Gilded Zephyr (GZ) has made appearances in some of Sturk’s other comics, but I always thought she was a muscular, busty blonde and had no idea she might be TG until it was hinted at at in the Pajama Jam section of The Nyx Anthology. GZ mentioned at that point that Nyx is the reason she’s a superhero, and in Shining Light, we learn how it happened.

I don’t want to give away too much here, but let me say that there has been more than one Gilded Zephyr, and when one blonde bombshell decides to retire from the superhero game, a new candidate needs to be found for the role. In this case, the candidate is a man named Jacob Walton. Jacob is a retired librarian and a widower, not the most likely person to become a beautiful blonde superhero… at least at first glance. But Jacob is someone with a lot of secrets.

There are good reasons why Jacob has been chosen. Things about his past, and his nature, that will be revealed over the course of the comic.
