Terrie knew she was different from her mid-teens. She confided this to her mum and older sister who were completely supportive. Her mum warned her, however, against telling her dad as he would not have accepted it. Out of love and respect for him, she did not pursue it any further until he passed away two years ago. As of the time of posting, she is undecided as to whether to go for full gender reassignment surgery.
