Iron in the Fire

Aug 30, 2022

Same deal as last time, I just want to write Alexander II fanfics.

So, Overwatchis hot on the trail of the Alexandrian villains in the wake of the Venezuelan coup. They are scattered across the globe, laying low and Overwatch is spread thin and trying to track them all. Ozma is feeling the pressure and decides to try her luck in Faerie after hearing that Rowena is in the Dusklands.

Rowena, on the other hand, is just trying to enjoy her vacation and pick up a commission. And unfortunately for her, there's no reception in the Otherworld. Luckily, she's got the support of small, but powerful, local fey.

DangerousLines has graciously let me use Alexander II characters once again. I'm just trying to let Brainchild have some friends who aren't supervillains. That whole island is a (gripping)toxic feedback loop.

Gofannon (Welsh pronunciation: [ɡɔˈvanɔn]) is a Middle Welsh reflex of Gobannus, one of the deities worshipped by the ancient Celts. He features in Middle Welsh literature as a great metal worker and as the son of Dôn. His name can be compared with the Old Irish gobae (gen. gobann) ‘smith’, Middle Welsh gof (pl. gofein) ‘smith’, Gaulish gobedbi ‘with the smiths’, all of which are cognate with Lithuanian gabija ‘sacred home fire’, gabus ‘gifted, clever’.

The moss people or moss folk (German: Moosleute, "moss folk", wilde Leute, "wild folk"), also referred to as the wood people or wood folk (Holzleute, "wood folk") or forest folk (Waldleute, "forest-folk"), are a class of fairy folk, variously compared to dwarfs, elves, or spirits, described in the folklore of Germany as having an intimate connection to trees and the forest.
They are sometimes described as similar to dwarfs, being the same size as children, but "grey and old-looking, hairy, and clad in moss." Sometimes, moss folk are also bigger. In other descriptions they are said to be pretty. In certain myths, the moss folk would ask humans for breast milk to feed their young, or steal little human children – motifs found in changeling lore.
