Retrograde (Tammi)

Tammi is quite possibly a unicorn of a model for us at Her Own Hand for two reasons.

One, she is 3-foot 9-inches tall and everything you see is natural. Without getting into too much into the genetics and biology of little people, but it’s worth saying that having a figure like her is pretty much unheard of.

And, two, she didn’t have a clue what Her Own Hand was other than knowing that we were a photography studio. She came in wanting to get some some “Glamour Shot” style pictures for her 10^th wedding anniversary. After we explained that we operated an adult website which paid the models and weren’t open for private shoots she decided – without asking her husband – to take a set to surprise him.

She said her husband loved “retro” adult magazines from the 1970s and 80s and decided to do a set that mimicked look of those shoots.

So, we went crazy with garish makeup, spent hours curling her hair and found what could be the only set of 1980s-style lingerie that could fit a woman on her stature this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. The only thing we cheated on was using a digital camera and the “soft-look” that was so common then, because no one wanted to risk damaging their lens with petroleum jelly.

And, she told us, he loved the photos and wants her to do more.
