Slushe - The Road Ahead

Dec 12, 2018

While we were developing Slushe, but before we had a name for it, we referred to it as “the gallery site.” The reason for this was we designed the site primarily as a place for adult artists to display their creations to the world. That’s not to say there isn’t room for fans and other adult creatives to sign up and engage with the community — we’ve built, and are still building, features for those users too — but as artists we wanted a platform with numerous features designed for sharing images and animation in a way that’s rewarding to the creator.

What’s that mean? Well, that’s partially for you to decide. We know what we wanted from an adult art site, and we’ve developed the site with those wants in mind. We’re only a handful of artists, though, so we want to know what ideas our user community thinks should lead the development of the site. These are some of the ideas we’ve being working with so far:

Creators Come First — We will do our best to tailor the site to our adult content creators of all skill levels. Feature development, usability, site rules, and more will continue to be developed with the artist in mind. If you need something, let us know.

Minimal Restriction — We might not be into your kink, and you might not be into ours, but believe adult artists should have a home on Slushe even if their content is fringe. We obviously have to draw the line somewhere for legal and logistical reasons, but we will fight to include as much content as we can on the site.

Quality Over Quantity — An art site with no users to see and comment on the art isn’t much good to artists, so how do we get more users to visit the site? We suspect the best way is probably showing off our best work. This doesn’t mean you can’t show off work-in-progress or early attempts, though. You’re welcome to share as much of that as you like, but know that we may not feature it. If you haven’t noticed already, our front page is curated to ensure any random browser wandering in off Google finds an attractive and inviting homepage that encourages them to stick around and explore. The way we figure it, every person who takes the time to look around might decide to stay, which means in the long run there will be more users to find, follow, and discover the artwork of all the artists on this site, even those just getting started.

No Dumping — Some artists create content for fun, but others are trying to make a living from their art on a part or full-time basis. For most artists in the latter group, piracy hurts. For this reason, we don’t intend for Slushe to be a dump site where any user can upload content which doesn’t belong to them. Artists will be the primary uploaders to the site, sharing either original or transformative work to their own galleries. Artists and non-artists alike can still to share content which doesn’t belong to them on Slushe, however, but they’ll do so by using our Lists feature. Similar to a YouTube or Spotify playlist, users can assemble their favorite works into a curated list that other users can follow. Every time you add something to the list, it will pop up in a follower’s Timeline even if they don’t follow the artist the artwork was created by

Sex Positivity — You may notice there’s a lot of dickgirls around here. The creators of Slushe made a name for ourselves with futanari 3DX, but we aren’t trying to make another dickgirl site. Slushe is for all adult artwork, not just dickgirls, and we want to create an environment that is welcoming to all genders, orientations, kinks, and more. There’s no room for haters here, and we want a positive and inclusive community, even if some users only stick to some parts of the site.

We don’t consider ourselves bound to these ideas, and we will adjust them overtime as needed, but let us know what you think. Additionally, if you think you may have skills or knowledge beneficial to the growth of Slushe, let us know!
